Determining the Severity of the Hearing Loss
Pioneer Hearing Aid Center performs hearing tests to determine how severe the hearing loss is. We can also diagnose what kind of hearing loss the client has sustained, including conductive, sensorineural, or mixed. Hearing loss usually happens gradually over time, so it can be hard to notice the symptoms. Medical conditions like ear infections, colds, impacted earwax, allergies, and head or ear trauma can lead to hearing loss. We will also ask about exposure to loud noises or if your work involves loud sounds.
Hearing Tests are Held in a Quiet Room
Hearing tests and evaluations are pain free. Pioneer Hearing Aid Center’s performs hearing tests in a quiet room to prevent noises from affecting the results. Clients wear headphones connected to an audiometer, which we use to evaluate hearing acuity. The audiometer transmits sounds to the headphones at different frequencies and records the responses of the patient.
